Professional Background

Dr. Brian Sutton is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. He completed his residency training at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, where he served as Co-Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in Breast Pathology at Northwestern University.

Prior to joining ECPC, Dr. Sutton served in a range of leadership and staff roles across the Southeast. Most recently, he was a staff pathologist specializing in breast pathology at Carolinas Pathology Group and served as Medical Director at Atrium Health Lincoln Laboratory. He previously held the position of Breast Pathology Lead at Baptist Health Jacksonville and was on staff at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, where he also served as Medical Director of CaroMont Laboratory.

Dr. Sutton earned his medical degree and a master’s degree in biomedical sciences from Eastern Virginia Medical School, and holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Virginia. He is an active member of the College of American Pathologists, the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
