Professional Background

Dr. Gerald Patrick Bailey brings extensive clinical and academic experience to the field of pathology, with a career spanning both medicine and dentistry. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California. He went on to complete his MD/PhD in Pathology at Boston University School of Medicine.

Dr. Bailey pursued residency training in Anatomic Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where he also completed research and fellowship training in Molecular Genetic Pathology. His additional training included Gastrointestinal Pathology fellowships at both Rhode Island Hospital/Brown Medical School and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology.

He has held leadership positions including Managing Director of NYGI at AmeriPath Northeast, and Laboratory Technical Supervisor for AmeriPath Northeast in Shelton, CT. Since 2021, Dr. Bailey has served as Staff Pathologist with Inform Diagnostics in Needham, MA, specializing in gastrointestinal pathology and molecular diagnostics.
