Professional Background

Dr. Monica Srodon is board-certified in Cytopathology as well as Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Dr. Srodon received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her residency and fellowship training at The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. She is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists. She is a member of the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists and the American Society of Cytopathology.

Dr. Srodon’s previous work experience includes developing a Molecular Testing Committee to provide state-of-the-art testing for cancer patients. She also enhanced gynecologic laboratory services and instituted a gynecologic pathology tumor board at the Eastern Connecticut Cancer Institute. She is co-medical director of the cancer program, which the Commission on Cancer recently recognized with its Outstanding Achievement Award. Only 14 percent of hospitals nationwide receive this award.
